International ETFs are available on many of the key international economic regions of the world.   International ETFs are broad in scope and generally aim to invest in the largest company stocks within the defined scope of the economic region, often selecting entire stock market indexes to represent each country.  International region ETFs are essentially a basket of specific country ETFs grouped to represent a defined global region.  Many International ETFs may also have currency risk exposure, so this is something the investor should consider carefully when investing in countries outside of their home currency.  Rapid changes in foreign exchange curency rates can magnify your gains or losses, so it is another factor to consider when investing in International ETFs.  Long term investors that hold a basket of International ETFs across several currencies usually find that over the long term these currency changes offset each other and have a limited negative impact on their portfolio over the long-term.
